Short Bio:

Taylor is not only an actor, but also a martial artist. He has won three Junior World Championship. He began his career as a martial artist at only six years old, when he began to train at Fabiano’s Karate School in Holland, Michigan. He competed in his first national karate tournament at the age of seven and was awarded three first-place trophies. Then, Taylor began to train with seven-time world champion Mike Chat. When he was eight, he was invited to represent the United States for the World Karate Association. He became the Junior World Forms and Weapons Champion, making him a triple gold medal winner. In 2003, he was invited to join the XMA Performance Team, led by Mike Chat.

When Taylor decided to become an actor, his family, tired of traveling from Michigan to auditions, relocated to Los Angeles. Since moving, Taylor has become a very successful actor, getting roles on television series such as My Wife and Kids, Summerland, and The Bernie Mac Show. He had a role in Cheaper by the Dozen 2, the sequel to the Steve Martin family comedy. He portrayed “Shark Boy” in The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl, a movie directed by Robert Rodriguez. Taylor is also a voiceover actor, providing his voice for Danny Phantom, What’s New Scooby Doo, and He’s a Bully, Charlie Brown. Taylor’s biggest role to date is the character of Jacob Black in the box-office hit Twilight, based on the best-selling novel with the same title.

Catherine Hardwicke made Twilight, Chris Weitz did New Moon and a new director, David Slade is at the helm of Twilight: Eclipse.

He’s no stranger to teen “angst” as we saw in the chilling Hard Candy, and he has previous experience with vampires with the sleek and scary 30 Days of Night.

This relative newcomer to the big screen says he struck it lucky with Twilight: Eclipse.

“We were lucky we get the best story, filled with the most action. It goes back to explore the original stories and it ends in a major battle,” said Slade.

“We still have the difficult emotional triangle between Edward (Robert Pattinson), Bella (Kristen Stewart and Jacob (Taylor Lautner) but I got the instruction to make Edward dangerous.

Twi-Hards Camp Out Days Before L.A. Premiere

Twilight fans, often called Twi-Hards, began camping outside Nokia Theater on Monday morning at 6 a.m., four days before the red carpet premiere of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

There are literally hundreds of them packed into a cordoned off, tightly secured area and they’ve each been given a wristband that grants them access to the “viewing area” prior to the premiere.  In other words, they’re not waiting for tickets inside to see the show, just for the chance at glimpsing stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner.

CBS News says roughly 9,000 wristbands will be issued before Thursday night, but these are the exceptionally fanatical 500-600 people eagerly awaiting their arrival.  EW reported some fans drove from Florida and another flew the 9,300 miles from Perth, Australia to be there.

‘Twilight: Eclipse’: Dakota Fanning on vampire bowling and prom

What do vampires do when they have a little down time? Apparently they go bowling — and not necessarily all that successfully.

That was the gist of the story “Twilight: Eclipse” star Dakota Fanning related to Jay Leno on “The Tonight Show” Monday (June 21).

She talks about going bowling on an off day during the filming of “New Moon” — candlepin bowling, it sounds like from her description — and how difficult it was to keep score without the electronic aids present at most bowling alleys: “They handed me a piece of paper and a pencil, and I had to do the score by hand,” she says incredulously. “It was hard, it was hard. You couldn’t see the pins from that far away!”

Jimmy Kimmel “Total Eclipse of the Heart” Preview!

If you can’t wait until Wednesday to see the stars of Twilight, Good Morning America has a special preview of Jimmy Kimmel’s Live Total Eclipse of the Heart.

‘Twilight Saga Eclipse’ Director David Slade talks: Meadow Scene and Xavier Samuel

David Slade, director of the Twilight Eclipse’ was in Burbank at an autograph signing talking to fans and signing books. Giving the skinny on the movie, the director talked candidly about the vision of the movie and the different scenes.

According to Slade the first scenes that were rehearsed and filmed were the meadow scenes. These definitely are one of the two times where the characters are very emotional and have brought together a focus for the audience. Giving away a few clues, there isn’t any doubt that Slade really focused on making this film the best it could be in the short time he had for the book installment.

He also places a well deserved compliment into the video that really sets the tone for a new star to be born.

Xavier Samuel will be a huge star’ says David Slade in response to the compliments about the newborn vampires. The demeanor in which he states this is such an attribute to the star who has three co-stars that are probably the biggest names on the planet.

‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ stars at MuchMusic Awards

Last night’s MuchMusic Awards in Canada were attended by not one, not two, not three, but four The Twilight Saga: Eclipse stars, and Access Hollywood got the chance to speak to each of them!

On the carpet were Ashley Greene (“Alice Cullen”), Jackson Rathbone (“Jasper Hale”), Kellan Lutz (“Emmett Cullen”), and Xavier Samuel (“Riley Biers”).

Lutz remarked that the event made him excited for this week’s The Twilight Saga: Eclipse premiere in Los Angeles, saying that “the fans are so amazing.”

I can’t wait to see ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’ just by seeing that preview. Having most of the cast in one place must of been amazing for the fans who had a chance to be there! I still haven’t seen anything, so I’m anxiously waiting for this.

David Slade was born September 26, 1969. He’s a British film director who began his career making music videos. His work includes videos for artists such as Aphex Twin, Rob Dougan, System of a Down, Stone Temple Pilots, Tori Amos, and Muse.

His first feature film, Hard Candy, was released in 2005 by Lions Gate Entertainment, who purchased the independent movie at the Sundance Film Festival. He went on to direct the vampire movie 30 Days of Night in 2007. David Slade was chosen by Summit Entertainment to direct Eclipse, the third film in the Twilight film series.

What I like about David’s work is the way he handles the photography of all of his work. The color lenses he uses and how he can capture a good angle. Have you seen any of his movies? What do you think of his music videos? After seeing what he can do with a vampire movie, how he manages to do fight scenes between vampires represents a couple in love, how do you think Eclipse will turn out to be?
