Doctor Who has delivered many delightful and entertaining episodes since it returned in 2005, but as even the show’s biggest fans will admit that … well … there’ve been a few appallingly lame ones as well.

Now that three new Time Lords have given us five new seasons of Doctor Who, let’s take a look at the episodes (in chronological order, not by preference) that were the best of the best—and also those that had us squirming in our seats.

‘True Blood’ Sweepstakes: Win Alexander Skarsgard, Anna Paquin’s Bloody Costumes!

Even with a week’s worth of television premieres underway, we can’t help but miss HBO’s “True Blood.” It’s sexy, it’s violent, it’s politically aware, and most of all it’s fun, and it really sucks (get it?) that we have to wait until next summer to see new episodes.

To ease my own craving for the supernatural dramedy, I have been plowing through the Charlaine Harris book series, that up until a few weeks ago, I had never read. But HBO has cooked up its own method for easing “True Blood” withdrawls: a sweepstakes for fans to win their own personal piece of Bon Temps history.

HBO is offering fans the chance to win one of eight bloody “True Blood” costumes! They’re nothing anyone would want to wear to the office or a dinner party (Maryann’s wedding dress, for instance, has a giant hole in the middle of it from where she was killed), but with Halloween coming up, those lucky enough to get their hands on one would have a killer costume.

‘Being Human’ interview: Russell Tovey sees no easy road for George and Nina

George (Russell Tovey) and Nina (Sinead Keenan) start Season 2 of “Being Human” stuck between a rock and a hard place — where the rock is a werewolf and the hard place is another werewolf.

It’s hard to watch the once happy couple veer so far off course, but Tovey doesn’t see any other way of addressing the events of the Season 1 finale, where George accidentally scratched Nina while exposing his supernatural side.

Smallville: Win the Complete Ninth Season on DVD!

The longest-running TV series that’s based on a comic book character began on The WB in October 2001. This Friday it’ll kick off its tenth and final season.

The Smallville story centers around a pre-Superman Clark Kent. Stories initially revolve around Clark’s home-life, school, and Smallville community but later shifts to his workplace at The Daily Planet newspaper. Ninth series regulars include: Tom Welling (Clark Kent), Allison Mack (Chloe Sullivan), Erica Durance (Lois Lane), Cassidy Freeman (Tess Mercer), Callum Blue (Zod), and Justin Harley (Oliver Queen/The Green Arrow).
