Q: Had you read the books or seen the show before signing on?
Denis O’Hare:
I was definitely a fan [of the show]. I hadn’t read the books; I’ve read them since and enjoyed them very much. I was a fan of Six Feet Under and was very sad when it ended, so I was not ready to switch my allegiance to another show. So I was like, “I’m not watching this True Blood.”

JOE MANGANIELLO INTERVIEW

Actor Joe Manganiello is making his debut this week in Season 3 of HBO’s critically acclaimed hit seriesTrue Blood, as fan favorite werewolf Alcide Herveaux.

Having gotten the role after learning that fans of the books were blogging about him being perfect for the character, and then pursuing it until he got an audition, the actor says that he was a monster movie fan, growing up, and has always wanted to play a werewolf. Now, he’s living that dream, even getting to work with his real wolf counterpart, on a show that he was already a fan of when he was cast.

While filming the Season 3 finale, which he promises will be insane, Joe Manganiello spoke exclusive by phone to Collider about working on his favorite show and how he hopes he’ll get to do so for a long time to come.

LOCAL VAMPIRE DIARIES FAN OFFERS GUIDED TOURS OF FILM SITES

As the Vampire Diaries cast and crew returns to Covington and is set to begin filming in July, local Molly Bachtel is offering fans a chance to relive the first season in real life.

Looking for an opportunity to share her love of the show, and make an extra buck or two, Bachtel is offering a series of guided tours to take fans around to most of the famous sites from season one.

“I totally got sucked in accidentally. I work at Oxford College, and they filmed a little bit in the library … I just went online to watch the episode filmed at the college, and I got drawn into the storyline. I went back and watched the rest of the episodes,” she said.
