KATIE’S READING LOUNGE: WHAT SHE’S READING NOW

Pale Demon – Rachel Morgan Series by Kim Harrison (four stars)

The Rachel Morgan series has 9 books in it so far and I love each one of them for there own reasons.
Unlike quite a few series that have more than 7 or 8 books, this one keeps you interested the whole time and they
are all action packed, I like to call a minimal fluff book. If you like a strong woman character along with all sorts of supernatural beings then this series is for you. They do need to be read in order though so if you haven’t heard of the series yet go out and look for Dead Witch Walking.

Wake – Wake Trilogy by Lisa McMann (three stars)

I love the whole plot behind this book, not only can Janie see peoples dreams but she gets dragged in to them.
I think that adds a whole new twist to things. And of course this book hits close to home because it takes place in
Michigan, and since that is where I am located I know a lot of the places they talk about. I would have given this book a higher rating but honestly it bummed me out a lot that the book was so short. Don’t get me wrong I love fast reads, but longer books can be fast reads too and these books are two great to only have a hundred to two hundred pages.

Firelight by Sophie Jordan (five stars)

I’ve never been able to find a book about Dragons that I really loved until now. Right now the supernatural scene is all about Vampires and Werewolves so it was really refreshing reading about Jacinda. I couldn’t put this book down, I read it within a day and was pretty sad when I found out that the new book wont be out for awhile. I highly recommend this book!

I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore (four stars)

I had seen this book around the store for a while now and just never picked it up. I normally wouldn’t do this but I went and saw the movie first and really liked it and of course I was confused by a few things. So I used that as an opportunity to go out and get the book. And boy was I happy I did it cleared up all of my confusion and added another series to my long list that I have been sucked in to. The movie was pretty close to the book, which makes me a very happy camper! The only thing that might bug me is the fact that the next book coming out in the series will have new characters in it telling the story. I got pretty attached to ‘John’ and I’m not sure how open I will be to these new characters.
