Review brought to you by OBS staffer Deanne

Summary:
Rose Hathaway’s got serious guy trouble.  Her gorgeous tutor Dimitri has his eye on someone else, her friend Mason has a huge crush on her, and she keeps getting stuck in her best friend Lissa’s head while she’s making out with her boyfriend, Christian.  (So not cool).
Then a massive Strigoi attack puts St. Vladimir’s on high alert, and the Academy crawls with Guardians–including the legendary Janine Hathaway…Rose’s formidable, long-absent mother.  The Strigoi are closing in, and the Academy’s not taking any risks.  This year, St. Vlad’s annual holiday ski trip is mandatory.
But the glittering winter landscape and the posh Idaho resort only provide the illusion of safety.  When three students run away to strike back against the deadly Strigoi, Rose must join forces with Christian to rescue them.  Only this time, Rose–and her heart–are in more danger than she ever could have imagined…

Review:

I LOVE this book!!!!! This book had it all for me.The emotion that I felt when reading this book still shocks me. This is why I love Richelle Mead, she can evoke so many feelings while you are reading that you become addicted to her books. Smart!
Rose and Dimitri’s attraction is still very much there with a few added problems to, like another women!  They try to fight what is going on between them, and still maintain their teacher/student relationship but it doesn’t work. I love that HE wants her, I love the fact that he is trying to move on with another, not because he has feelings for her , because he is trying to sell himself on a life that doesn’t include Rose. And I love that he told Rose that if both of them are guarding Lissa, he is afraid that if there is an attack on Lissa that his first thought will be Rose.
Another great thing about this book,  they focused on Rose’s friendship with Mason, and Lissa and Christian’s relationship and how Rose is bothered by it. I also liked how they showed the connection between Rose and Lissa, they share something that we can’t figure out yet. Dimitri is aware that something is different between them.
This is a great book, now I am a second book lover, the characters are more developed and the story takes on a life of its own, but I think that aside from my second book preference this is a great second book!!! I cannot wait to see how it all unfolds!
