According to Perez Hilton, Bill Condon will be directing Breaking Dawn:

Summit Entertainment announced today that they have officially selected a director for the final flick in the Twilight franchise. Oscar winner Bill Condon, best known for his work on Dreamgirls, will be the guiding force behind Breaking Dawn.

Though the studio has yet to reveal when and where production on the flick will take place, everyone involved seems tickled that Bill is on board – including Bill. In a statement, the director revealed his excitement for the project and hopes to bring an “unique cinemative experience” for fans to enjoy.

As for the mastermind behind it all, Twilight author Stephenie Meyer, she is just as “thrilled” that Bill has consented to be a part of the franchise, saying”

“I’m so thrilled that Bill wants to work with us. I think he’s going to be a great fit, and I’m excited to see what he does with the material.”

Wow! An Oscar winning director – Summit must be elated that he has agreed to do it. Dreamgirls is a great movie which means he must be an amazing director.

If Stephenie Meyer is happy with him, who are we to disagree?

What do you think of Bill Condon’s work? Do you feel he is the right choice for director of Breaking Dawn? Why? or Why not?
