Synopsis:

For most women in the business, Atlantic City is hooker heaven, but Diana Andrews hates the downtime. She can watch her client at the blackjack table for only so long, and the in-house entertainment holds no appeal. When a new man offers her some easy money on the side, the job lands Diana in the middle of a casino rip-off, a cold murder case, and another killing so fresh that it might rub off on her.

Review:

This short story came up short. I felt like I was missing the big picture. It wasn’t until I looked it up on Amazon and realized that this is one of about 50 stories about Diana Andrews that I finally got it. This was like reading one chapter in a really good book.  You know that there is chemistry. You know that there is substance, and every time you turn the page you expect it, but it doesn’t come.

Parts of the story were quite cliche and others were just down right unbelievable. But overall, it wasn’t a bad read. The dialogue worked well, the story moved at a good pace, but the overall feeling was that it was taken from a TV crime drama script. In fact… I think it might make a REALLY GOOD night-time drama!
