Last night, courtesy of Awesome Teen Magazine, an OBS staff member received a photo retweet of Taylor Lautner in mid backflip captured by none other than David Slade while on the set of Eclipse yesterday with this caption:

“Taylor Lautner Pic from set, yes that is him mid backflip. He does it from standing still.“

Immediately, our staff member posted the amazing photo of Taylor and his mighty acrobatics in our Actors forum area of OBS’s message boards and brought you, our OBS fans, the photo first.

David Slade seems to be a prolific tweeter; posting some cool new photo or sly antidote about the day’s filming activities every few hours.  We aren’t complaining, mind you– in fact, in this new fangled day and age it is pretty awesome to be on the cusp of the goings on with our favourite directors, actors, artists and authors.  Just two years ago, public photos from the set, at this stage of filming, would have been unheard of unless some wiry paparazzi had slimed their way onto the lot.  Now, with Twitter, we can get an insider’s view from the insiders themselves nearly every other minute.

“Yeah, me and the other humans, like  Michael Welch, Christian Serratos and Anna Kendrick, we’re all flying out tomorrow,” revealed The Twilight Saga: Eclipse returnee Justin Chon in an interview with Radar Online.

“Super excited” and raring to go, Chon also revealed several other details about his character in Eclipse.

This time, it’s a lot more banter. A lot of more cafeteria scenes,” Chon explains. The humans, he says, are there to bring a lighter mood to the film.

Supposedly, too, Chon’s character, Eric Yorkie, will be getting his hands dirty with some other cryptic extra-curricular activities. “We’re not just gonna be in the cafeteria the whole time.”

He also revealed that he has seen and memorized the script, and that the script takes some “liberties” with the book’s text, but nothing extraordinary.

I don’t feel as excited about Eclipse as I did New Moon. Maybe it’s because I haven’t seen New Moon yet and I feel I need to before I can move on and get excited about Eclipse filming. IDK.

How do you feel about the recent news that everyone is gathering and beginning to film Eclipse? Are you ready for the next movie?

As we reported this weekend, the rumors regarding production of Stephenie Meyer’s fourth book in the Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn, are exaggerated. The largest online Twilight news resource, Twilight Lexicon, took the time today to run down a few of those rumors and put them to bed.

There are a ton of rumors swirling around the making of Breaking Dawn, so we thought we’d run them down for you.

The Breaking Dawn tab on the Summit Official world of Twilight website would seem to indicate that the studio has acquired the rights to the film, (otherwise huge oops for listing something you don’t have the rights to). It could be at any stage of development.

Other actors connected to the project supposedly stating that Breaking Dawn would start filming in February in Vancouver, two words: Winter Olympics. Those remarks remain rumor. If any movie manages to film in Vancouver while the city plays host to the Olympics this winter than hats off to them. It would be a logistical nightmare based on the traffic of the incoming visitors, not to mention that local production equipment/people get hired by the out-of-town media from every country in the world that is about to descend.

It is nice to get some clear cut answers to these rumors. I know it is just speculation until stories are confirmed, I just wish everyone else would understand that.

Lainey Gossip reported yesterday that Eclipse filming had officially started and that, in particular, several dream sequence style scenes involving “Jasper and Maria” were shot.  In tandem, Twilight Lexicon contributor, Mandy, who spoke with crew members during set break down yesterday and who also posted some location photos on her site, had this to say:

“Based on the location, the conversation, and the report from Lainey on what was filmed… I conclude that this location has SERIOUS potential for having hosted Twilight Saga Eclipse filming yesterday.”

So it looks like things are off and running for the cast and crew of Eclipse.  And it is the perfect time to shoot Jasper’s Texas/Mexico back story in Vancouver, since the weather is perfectly mild.  However things might prove interesting come time to film the fire and ice/tent scene.

Bryce Dallas Howard training photos were posted earlier. Ashley Greene, Elizabeth Reaser, and Xavier Samuel also hit the gym yesterday in Vancouver to prep for Eclipse.

In addition to standard personal training however most of the cast will also participate in fight training. Sounds like it’ll be an action-heavy movie. Good. Hopefully this will mean there will be fewer opportunities for Bella and Edward to moon at each other.
