Summary

Never settle down. Ever.

Workaholic Lanie Rogers lives a completely nomadic lifestyle. Her job keeps her on the move, and relationships are a complication she doesn’t need. That is, until she meets Mr. Tall, Dark, and Hotness at a pre-wedding party. Complicated? Maybe. But lately, Lanie’s life has been missing a little something—and sexy playboy Tyler Norris offers something she definitely can’t refuse.

Tyler has always been a little too popular with women for his own good. Ever since he and his buddies vowed to remain bachelors, Tyler figured he was safe from temptation. Lanie and her gorgeous brown eyes are about to prove him so, so wrong. With one kiss, the heat is intense. After one night, it’s pure combustion. It was supposed to be a no-strings fling—until these two commitment-phobes each discover the one undeniable exception to their rule.

Review

Until You is the second book in the Bachelor Brotherhood series by Denise Grover Swank as well as the second book I have read by her.  I have continued on with her Bachelor Brotherhood series and she has not disappointed.  I found myself thoroughly absorbed throughout!  The characters were engaging, entertaining, sexy, funny, serious…all around a good read.

The story begins with a wedding shower (Brittany and Randy’s to be exact).  Tyler is getting hit on by numerous women (four so far) …at a wedding shower no less…when luckily, his buddy Kevin, rescues him.  Tyler quickly leaves and ducks in to the garage to get more ice.  Who does Tyler run in to but Lanie, who is hiding out in the garage.  He quickly thinks …. this wedding might not be so bad after all.  As they continue to talk:

Her breath fanned his face, and it took everything within him to keep his hands to himself, because, instinct told him that if he made a move, she’d give him a brush-off so epic, an 8.0 earthquake would pale in comparison.  And he definitely did not want her to give him a brush-off.”

As he took the last drag of his beer and tossed the bottle into the recycling bin, he realized that never in his thirty-three years had be been so turned on by a woman.  And he didn’t even know her name.”

Lanie Rogers left Mr. Tall, Dark, and Handsome in the garage and headed to the backyard in search of her cousin.”

So of course, you can see why I was totally engaged with the story and this is all within the first chapter. And from there it only gets better.

Tyler is a part of the remaining two official “bachelors” in the brotherhood (though not for long as Tyler will be the lone member) in addition to being a lawyer and groomsman for his buddy Randy. As a confirmed bachelor, when he and Lanie hit it off, they keep their relationship (such as it is) a secret from everyone.  There is only one month until the wedding …. they can do this…right?  Well, many humorous moments transpire while trying to keep things secret. Problem is…his professional life may definitely play havoc with his personal life.  Especially since both Tyler and Lanie are unaware of the professional connection they have.

Lanie is a self assured woman whose career involves opening stores in various locations across the country. These openings must remain a secret until opening day.  As luck would have it (though maybe not…as you see as the story progresses) the next grand opening is in her home town, the town where Brittany (her cousin) is getting married.  Keeping this a secret is difficult and plays havoc with relationships that develop (with Tyler of course).  When trouble ensues with respect to said opening …. Lanie must re-evaluate her priorities. Can this working woman have it all?

The sexy bits … sometimes naughty, but in a good way. I found that indeed the author left some things to the imagination of her readers. In one early on encounter while at Lanie’s place when she offers Tyler a glass of wine:

“She opened the refrigerator and looked inside, then quickly closed the door. ‘I’m out of wine. I have some vodka, but nothing to mix with it.’

He took several slow steps toward her. ‘I’m not feeling very thirsty.’

‘Oh?’ she asked with a grin. ‘Are you hungry?’

‘Very.’

‘I don’t have any food.’

‘It’s not food I’m hungry for.’

.

Is your plan to drive me crazy before you even get my clothes off? She asked breathlessly. Because it is working.

The story line with Tyler’s younger brother was very heartwarming.  Absolutely showed how connected Tyler wanted to be with his family and what they meant to him.

I must say, I had a smile on my face the entire time I was reading. A thoroughly enjoyable read, hitting all the right spots! I cannot wait for the third book in the series “Always You (Bachelor Brotherhood #3)”.
