Embroidery shop owner Marcy Singer is about to have the rug pulled out from under her….

Marcy can’t wait to see the new exhibit at the Tallulah Falls museum on antique tapestries and textiles, including beautiful kilim rugs. But her enthusiasm quickly turns to terror when, the day after the exhibition opens, she discovers a dead body behind her store, the Seven-Year Stitch, wrapped up in a most unusual fashion.

The victim appears to be a visiting art professor in town for the exhibit. Did someone decide to teach the professor a lesson, then attempt to sweep the evidence under the rug? Along with her boyfriend, Detective Ted Nash, Marcy must unravel an intricate tapestry of deception to find a desperate killer.

Review:

Marcy and her friends were so excited to see the new exhibit at the Tallulah Falls museum. It was definitely on one of their favorite subjects, textiles and tapestries. They were all set to enjoy their night at the gala opening night. Marcy’s boyfriend, Detective Ted Nash and her friend Reggie’s husband Manu, chief of police, were supposed to be off duty for the night. But the guys are going to be on alert since the FBI thinks a known art thief may be in attendance. Things seem to go fine and no one see the bad guy there.

Marcy goes to work the next morning thinking about her great night. Little does she know what awaits her. She is shocked when she takes the trash out and finds one of the rugs from the exhibit. And inside is a dead body. It seems the thief has met a bad end. With twist and turns and lots of suspects this cozy mystery keeps the reader entertained. I love this series and Thread End didn’t let me down. The characters are fun and well developed. Tallulah Falls is a town that I would love to live in. Even with the occasional murder.

Although I have no interest in embroidery, textiles or the like, this series has always been enjoyable and fun. Thread End develops the main characters even more. Marcy seems completely settled in her new town. And Angus her wolfhound is always a pleasure to read about. I loved the way there were several viable suspects and the storyline drew the reader in to the mystery. The suspects aren’t what they seem to be and the least likely person may just be the one you need to worry about.

I recommend this book to any cozy lover or dog lover. Of course anyone interested in crafts, sewing or embroidery will love it too. This is a very fun mystery, with great characters and a delightful storyline. I have to say I thought I might not enjoy this one as much as the others in the series when I saw it was dealing with rugs and textiles. However I loved it.
