If you’re a child of the ’80s, you probably wasted a lot of time in arcades playing Space Invaders and thinking, “Wow, this would make a RAD movie!”

Or not. But in any case, Warner Brothers thought so and has reportedly decided to adapt the Taito sci-fi game to the silver screen.

The moment I saw this I thought, what a bad idea!  Space Invaders could follow any premise, but it will probably end up just like any other space fight movie, like Star Wars, Star Trek, or Star Whatever. There is nothing about Space Invaders the video game that is unique, besides a pixelated square shooting out a pixel pellet through pixelated boxes, at pixelated little creatures that look like bacteria.  Unlike Tron, with it’s trippy cool light suits and a death race via hot looking vehicles, what can Space Invaders The Movie bring over from the game itself?  Will the characters be pixelated and be square in shape?  What do you think of this idea?
