REVIEW OF EASTWICK PILOT EPISODE

ifmagazine.com:

I enjoyed the season premiere of EASTWICK quite a lot actually.

Perhaps because I wasn’t sure just how they would handle the show and I wasn’t going into it expecting all that much. Low expectations always help, something that hurt me when I watched THE GOOD WIFE on Tuesday night thinking it was a political drama only to be tricked into watching a legal series.

What I think I liked the most was that they threw out everything about the original film – THE WITCHES OF EASTWICK – and only kept the core elements of three women and one naughty warlock that takes a divine interest in giving these women everything they desire (whether they truly want it or not).

The storyline here follows a similar one of the film. Three women, all from different backgrounds with different goals and aspirations, during a community fair in the town of Eastwick find three coins by chance. At the same time, the three women toss the coins into a fountain at the center of town and strange things begin to happen.

I have seen a few commercials advertising this show and it’s looking pretty good. I’m going to have to try it out and see if I like it.

What do you think? Will you watch Eastwick?
