PASADENA, Calif. — The Canadians are coming, the Canadians are coming.

Canadians aren’t just making inroads in Hollywood’s dream factory. They’re everywhere.

In a nine-hour presentation of its fall lineup at the just-concluded summer meeting of the TV Critics Association, the Fox Broadcasting Company featured one program after another in which a Canadian is either a lead actor, or a prominent writer-producer, or the prime location where the show is being filmed.

Toronto ingenue Nina Dobrev, a graduate of Degrassi: Next Generation, has landed the Kristen Stewart-esque role in The CW’s teen thriller The Vampire Diaries. Dobrev faced a wave of paparazzi cameras with both a Hollywood North-born glamour and that curious Canadian instinct for humility and work ethic.

Tahmoh Penikett, son of former Yukon Premier Tony Penikett, was told not to bother packing for home after the Joss Whedon-produced sci-fi thriller Dollhouse was unexpectedly picked up for a second season.

For a few years now I have noticed that alot of the fresh faces that have been on are TV’s and on the big screen are from Canada. Or movies are being filmed in Canada more often. Which i think is totally cool! I can’t wait to see Nina in Vampire Diaries.
