IS JOE JOHNSTON THE WORST DIRECTOR FOR CAPTAIN AMERICA?

THEHAWK Analyzes Johnston’s film career and provides points showing whether he is capable of directing Captain America.
This is the first in what I hope to be a series of articles highlighting comic characters, films, actors, directors and mistakes throughout comic book movies. For my first article I decide to highlight Marvel’s controversial choice of Joe Johnston to helm the upcoming Captain America movie.
I know Joe Johnston has been criticized as a poor choice to helm the upcoming Captain America movie. I can understand that, he has an iffy track record at best, having only helmed ten films thus far. He did not start out as a director though. He was originally an art director that conspired with George Lucas to create visual effects for such famous films as the original Star Wars trilogy and Raiders of the Lost Ark.
FIRST TEASER FOR DISNEY’S RAPUNZEL… ER… ‘TANGLED’
From this 30-second teaser, it doesn’t look as though Disney is giving the Rapunzel story a new twist hence Tangled opens up later this year. And that’s surprising, because with the recent name change from Rapunzel to Tangled, it sounds like a different mood somehow.
That worked for Hoodwinked and the Little Red Riding Hood story, and of course, Shrek kind of turns a lot of fairy tales on their head. But Tangled comes across as a pretty straight reading of the classic tale. I guess there’s room for that, too, but then why not just call it Rapunzel?
NEW ‘TRON LEGACY’ STORY DETAILS , 3D IMAX TRAILER!
Those living in LA were fortunate to twice get a look at the new 3-D IMAX trailer for Tron Legacy on Saturday, even as director Joseph Kosinski answered questions about the film, and during a conversation with original Tron director Steven Lisberger revealed plenty of spoilers about what fans of the franchise can expect from Legacy.
According to SCI FI Wire, the screening was a reward for fans who solved an alternate reality game (at the viral site Flynn Lives)—one of several held around the country and around the world for the much-anticipated sequel to Lisberger’s ground-breaking 1982 sci-fi movie.
HOW AEON FLUX KILLED BLACK WIDOW
AND MADE IRON MAN 2 THE MOVIE IT IS TODAY
Iron Man 2 may be the cinematic debut for Marvel’s femme fatale spy the Black Widow, but it’s not the first time she was headed for the big screen. X-Men screenwriter David Hayter explains how Charlize Theron ruined everything.
Seeing Joe Johnston’s films listed and analysed is interesting, but also leaves me a little confused with how I feel about the Captain America movie. What do you think? Will he be able to do Steve Rogers’ journey justice? What do you think of today’s movie news?
