Nick is just trying to live a normal teenage life.

However, he is being plagued with visions ever since he retrieved the Eye of Ananke.  He isn’t sure what’s real or not any more and is worried he’s going crazy!  And, he has lost his Malachai powers.

Then he finds out that Zavid isn’t truly dead, and is in Noir’s clutches.  And, then other powerful beings around him start going missing …. Aeron and his Aunt Mennie.  As they try to figure out their next move, Caleb gets injured in battle.  They have to call on the last person the Daeve wants them to in order to save his life, his father, Jaden.

They anticipate having to bargain with Jaden to get his help, but are surprised when he gives his help willingly.  And, he even goes as far as going to the nether realms to try to save Zavid and Aeron!  But it may cost Jaden his own freedom.

Can Nick get his friends back and figure out what is real and what isn’t?  Can he save the world from experiencing what he’s seen in his visions?

Unfortunately, I didn’t really care for this book.  I found the visions made it hard to follow, at times.  And, the book was rather dull and boring overall. I also found Nick rather annoying in this one, he took a step back, not quite as bad as he was in the beginning of the series, but still bad.We picked up some more misfits along the way in the form of Kaziel, a Cwn Annwn, and Vawn, a cyhyraeth.  But otherwise, I don’t think this book added much to the series.  I can only hope the next installment will be better than this snoozefest.
