Intertwined: Chapter 14 – by Caro
Aden could hear a voice calling him from far away. Where was he? What moment in time had Eve taken him to? A doctor was in front of him, it was Dr. Gray and Aden was eleven years old. It was curious how Aden had had a connection with Mary Ann even before they got to know each other. Dr. Gray was his doctor in this institution from his past, but Aden couldn’t remember what had happened then.
After all Eve was right, they did know Mary Ann from the past, but could Aden talk to Dr. Gray about it? What if it changed something in the future and he never got to meet her or Victoria? What if he ended in another place? He liked Crossroads and so did the souls. Aden tried to act as normal as possible but he was so curious to know about Mary Ann.

Eve: “I tried to tell you we knew her.”
Caleb: “Well, what d’you know.”
Narrator: Did eleven-year-olds talk like babies or grow-ups?
Eve: “I brought you here for a reason. I don’t care what the others say. Ask him what you are dying to know”
Caleb: “We’re close to having a girlfriend.”
Eve: “Ask him, ask him, ask him! I won’t shut up until you do.”
Elijah: “For God’s sake, what if he wakes up in another state, no Mary Ann, no Victoria. I hate what Mary Ann does to us, but he’s finally out of the hospitals and off the drugs they used to feed him.”
Aden: “Tucker is a jerk, by the way, and you should put a stop to that before it ever starts. Or maybe she’s supposed to date him. I don’t know. She will–”
