Review

Jim is now approaching the sixth round of the war that will decide the world’s fate.  He lost the last round because he was too focused on Sissy and didn’t pay enough attention to the mission.  Now the demon, Devina, is one win away from winning the entire game.

Jim is determined to win this time, even if it means ignoring Sissy altogether.  But when the game takes a turn and it becomes a suicide mission, he will need help from friends and enemies alike to save his soul.

This is the last book in the series, and I truly expected an epic ending.  Sadly, that’s not what I got.  This book was so bland and it truly felt like wash, rinse, and repeat.  I had a hard time finishing it because there was just nothing that interesting happening.  It felt like we had experienced it all before, except that trip into Purgatory, of course.

I typically wouldn’t like cramming the last two rounds of the competition into one book, but I’m just glad to wrap this series up once and for all.  I had hoped for more from this book, but I’m happy to finally be able to move onto something else, at this point.
