Open Book Society wants to congratulate the fictional witch Hermione Granger to her birthday!

Hermione Jean Granger was born September 19, 1979. The daughter of two muggle-dentists is a fictional character and one of the three protagonists in J. K. Rowlings ‘Harry Potter’ series. Next to being best friend to Harry Potter and Ron Weasley, Hermione is an exceptionally talented young witch. Hermiones most prominent features include her prodigious intellect and cleverness, she is levelheaded, book-smart and also very good with logic – what very often is a great help to the three friends. Perhaps that’s why her bigest fear is insecurity and failure. Hermiones Patronus is an otter and her wand is made of vine wood and dragon heartstring core.
