Open Book Society wants to congratulate the fictional wizard Harry Potter to his birthday!

Harry James Potter was born July 31, 1980 to James and Lily Potter. He is the only known survivor of the Killing Curse, as Lord Voldemort tried to murder him when he was an infant, which led to Voldemort’s first defeat and the end of the First Wizarding War. When Harry Potter began attending Hogwarts he was sorted into Gryffindor house, there he became best friends with Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. He was the youngest Seeker in over a century and captain of his house’s Quidditch team. Harry protected the Philosopher’s Stone from Voldemort, saved Ginny Weasley from the Chamber of Secrets, won the Triwizard Tournament, founded Dumbledore’s Army and fought in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries, during which he lost his godfather. Harry also played a significant role in many other battles of the Second Wizarding War and hunted down and destroyed Voldemort’s Horcruxes together with Hermione and Ron. That’s why Harry Potter is one of the most famous wizards in modern times.
