Summary

Nevada Frida Baylor and Connor Ander Rogan cordially invite you to join their wedding celebration. Summoning, weather manipulation, and other magical activities strictly forbidden.

Catalina Baylor is looking forward to wearing her maid of honor dress and watching her older sister walk down the aisle. Then the wedding planner gets escorted off the premises, the bride’s priceless tiara disappears, and Rogan’s extensive family overruns his mother’s home. Someone is cheating, someone is lying, and someone is plotting murder.

To make this wedding happen, Catalina will have to do the thing she fears most: use her magic. But she’s a Baylor and there’s nothing she wouldn’t do for her sister’s happiness. Nevada will have her fairy tale wedding, even if Catalina has to tear the mansion apart brick by brick to get it done.

Review

I loved Diamond Fire, it was a great transition from Nevada as narrator to Catalina. I loved that after the events of Wild Fire, we are able to see the “happy ending” that Nevada and Connor deserved.

This novella is able to show the reader a not seen before, until today, side of the Rogan family, the extended family. We finally get to meet Connor’s mother, Arrosa Rogan. Arrosa is a lovely woman that loves her son very much and most of all want his happiness and more family, but she’s still a prime and a powerful one like his son. Arrosa used to live in Spain and was part of the Ramirez family before marrying Connor’s dad, and know her siblings are arriving at her house to be part of the wedding.

The Ramirez are quite an odd and complicated family and I loved all the sentences that were written for them. They were one of the best parts of this story and their problems were so fun to read.

Catalina, oh how I loved to read her narrative as the main character and to learn more about the person she is. Her powers are so interesting and fascinating, she can be as great and powerful as Nevada or even more. I can’t wait to see how her powers will develop and with enough training she will be a Prime like all the others. I believe that once her main story starts, she will be a great character to continue the series and see what adventures await her.

I love the Hidden Legacy series and this novella, Diamond Fire, was the great continuation to the story. House Baylor seems to be making a name for themselves and all the members of the family seem to be playing a different role in the upcoming stories.

I can’t wait for what is to come.

If you are a fan of Ilona Andrews and their work such as the Hidden Legacy series, then I recommend Diamond Fire. The stages are changing, and a different Baylor sister now takes the reins of the family business and it’s her time to let her power shine.
