Synopsis:

dark-carousel-dark-christine-feehanThe moment Charlotte Vintage walks into his club, Tariq Asenguard’s blood is set on fire. The ancient Carpathian had given up hope of finding his lifemate, but now he will do anything to make Charlotte his own. What Tariq doesn’t know is that Charlotte is using herself and her best friend as bait—to try to draw out the bloodthirsty killers who have already murdered Charlotte’s brother and mentor.

Charlotte is familiar with Tariq. Not only is he one of the richest and most eligible bachelors in the city, but he’s also a renowned collector of old carousel horses, which Charlotte restores. Their shared passion opens Charlotte up to trusting him with her life and with the desire she can no longer control. But it also makes her vulnerable to a centuries-old curse that will unite her and Tariq in a war against the enemies of humans and Carpathians alike… (Goodreads).

Review:

Author Christine Feehan has done it again and delivered her fans another amazing Dark Series book with Dark Carousel. Over the years, the Dark Series books have increased with each installment adding new couples and several characters to the growing Carpathian community, and every time Feehan surprises fans with even more information about these ancient beings than one can imagine.

This time around in Dark Carousel the main couple is Carpathian Tariq Asenguard and his lifemate, human psychic, Charlotte Vintage who showed to be a strong companion for the Carpathian hunter Tariq,  along with being a very sexy couple. Something I liked about Tariq and Charlotte was that Tariq was willing to show Charlotte how to fight, which rarely is granted by the male Carpathians to their lifemates.

Dark Carousel is the “sequel” to Dark Crime whose events are closely linked and continue in this book. There is a lot of new information about the Malinov brothers, new and old Carpathians that are introduced, and more psychic women and children. I am rooting for the idea that Charlotte’s friend Genevieve might be Gary’s lifemate. She is French after all, and that was his hint in previous books. I couldn’t figure out who Emeline might be a lifemate to, but hopefully it’ll be hinted in the future.

I am really curious about the triplets. They have been in the spotlight for several books now, and I would really like for their own story. But the one that I couldn’t help but feel happy about his mention was the resident tech Carpathian Josef! He is finally being given recognition for his unique abilities and hopefully he’ll appear in the next book.

With the new information and Charlotte’s ability the Carpathians are getting closer to figuring out why the vampires are tracking down women with psychic abilities. I wouldn’t mind another book like Dark Celebration with so many characters now making special appearances here and there. The couples and their families are growing which would make it great for another reunion book to recount how many couples there are.

I really liked Dark Carousel and it instantly became one of my favorite Dark Series books. It has action, mystery, romance, and sexy Carpathians. If you’re a fan of Christine Feehan and her Dark Series, this is a must read book. There are a few surprising things I didn’t mention which you’ll have to read to find out 😉
