Kipling teams up with police officer, Alyssa, to try to find her. However, Alyssa’s present starts to feel like a repeat of the past when Kipling gets a call that Jade has been kidnapped! He must follow The Gentleman’s instructions if he ever wants to see his sister alive again. He just never expected to have to choose between Jade and Alyssa!
I actually really enjoyed this installment of the series. I love Kipling anyway, so a book featuring him was no hardship for me! We finally figure out what The Gentleman has against the Benedicts and how everything that has happened so far ties together.
Also, this author or editor (not sure which is responsible) has finally discovered page breaks! Hallelujah as that has been a complaint of mine in every book of this series so far! There are still a few places that it was missing one, but it’s a vast improvement! The wrong words in places is still an issue, but it wasn’t nearly as bad as the previous book, Deadly Secret.
The edition of the book I read for this review also included a bonus scene. It was a great scene! I loved Knox’s speech and the nice sappy ending that left me grinning like a love-sick idiot!
Everything was tied up in a nice neat bow, so I’m not expecting any more books from this series, but you just never know!
