Yours-All-AlongSummary

Four years after an accident tore their friendship apart, Hunter and Devon are living separate lives. Hunter is now the all-American hero—a congressman’s son and a pro pitcher in Houston preparing to marry his beauty-queen girlfriend. Devon is in Dallas running a new restaurant.

But when Hunter unexpectedly shows up in Devon’s bar, Devon can’t turn him away. Damn it if the man isn’t still gorgeous. But engaged? Hell no. All he’s doing for Devon is bringing back memories of their college-roommate days, and the night their relationship went too far. Turns out Hunter has never forgotten it either.

Now Devon can’t help but be drawn in all over again by the only guy who’s ever gotten close enough to break his heart. Maybe one more night together would be enough for both of them to finally move on. Or maybe one night will change everything…

Review

Yours All Along starts with Hunter Riley sitting through a cake tasting with his fiancé Mercy for their wedding. The pressure of the upcoming wedding, plus an injury to his back, has made Hunter’s life quite stressful. Trying to kill two birds with one stone, his fiancé sends him to a resort in Dallas, where in the city he’ll be able to find his college best friend, Devon Crowe. What she doesn’t know is that there is a reason for why he has never mentioned Devon to her, secrets from the past and the reason why he had a car accident four years ago before he started his career, all come to surface when they see each other again.

Once Devon sees Hunter again, his anger for him returns along with his feelings and hunger that he once felt for his best friend, those same feelings that Hunter crushed four year ago.

Yours All Along is a novella and prequel to Call on Me, where we see Devon’s sister Oakley, the main character, eight years in the future. In this novella we see the love story between Devon and Hunter, and Hunter coming to terms with his feelings for Devon and his life choices.

Roni Loren’s series Loving on the Edge is an Erotica and Romance series, and while Your All Along is part of the series, its sex scenes are not as strong as the main books, if you are into male/male romance. But this doesn’t affect much the story, as most of it is a flashback of their college days. The novella fulfills its purpose and gives a glimpse to the past of this two characters. Still I wouldn’t mind another one to see what happens to them after they got together. Maybe we will see some of them in Call on Me.

The novella is a short story and it can be read in a sit down, or two. But still it has important topics such as the understanding of one’s feelings, believing in your dreams, and to be true to yourself because the pressure at one point can be too much for you.

If you are a fan of Roni Loren and her series Loving on the Edge, then I recommend you Yours All Along. Here, two men reunite after years and choices that kept them apart from each other. Speaking your feelings out loud can save you some years of celibacy.
