The Gates Watch: The Season (Maybe Series) Finale

Source: cinemablend.com

We’ve been waiting for it all season. Devon has been scheming since Week 1 of The Gates. For weeks, we’ve seen countless shots of dimly lit rooms, weird spell components in jars and all sorts of creepy crap on the walls. And this episode, in the two-hour season finale, we finally get to see what she’s been up to.

Devon, it seems, had been planning to kill her ex-husband’s current wife: Vanessa Buckley. In her grand plot, Devon would use the bewitched Sarah Monohan to poison Frank, who would then pass on his anti-vampire disease to his wife while leaving him unscathed. Syfy Orders Script Development of “Metadocs” Drama Based on Platinum Studios’ Comic Book Series

Source: marketwatch.com

NEW YORK, NY, Sep 20, 2010 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) — Syfy is developing the drama script “Metadocs,” with co-producing partners Universal Cable Productions and FremantleMedia (“American Idol,” “America’s Got Talent”). The project will be produced by Landscape Films (Bob Cooper/”Three Inches”) and Platinum Studios /quotes/comstock/11k!pdos (PDOS 0.07, -.00, -1.99%) (Scott Mitchell Rosenberg/”Cowboys & Aliens”), and written by Michael Chernuchin (“Law & Order,” “L&O: Criminal Intent”).

Based on the Antarctic Press comic book series created by Joe Dunn and Rod Espinoza and controlled by Platinum Studios, “Metadocs” follows a team of specialists tasked with treating a small percentage of the world’s population who have become ‘afflicted’ with extraordinary abilities — how do you perform surgery on a man with unbreakable skin? The hypothetical becomes the actual as great powers now also come with great medical complications. “Metadocs” treats these patients when and where no other hospital can, using real world science and medicine.

MTV Orders Another Monster/Comedy Series

Source: scifi.about.com

MTV, already making a bid for the supernatural audience with a sense of humor by reviving Teen Wolf (which is in production and scheduled to premiere sometime next year), has handed a series order Death Valley, a documentary-style horror/comedy series slated to premiere next year about an elite branch of the LAPD, the Undead Task Force, that combats zombies, vampires and werewolves in the San Fernando Valley. I guess they’ve proliferated since Angel Investigations was bought out.

MTV has ordered 12 episodes. Announced casting includes Caity Lotz (Mad Men) and Tania Raymonde (Lost).
