True Blood actor Stephen Moyer recently gave an interview discussing [via Examiner] discussing the role of vampires in pop culture.  He said, “A vampire also treats you with old-fashioned manners, while at any point he could overwhelm you and rip your life away.  There’s something very sexually exciting about that. Look at ’50 Shades of Grey.”

He also adds, “It’s about romance and power and fantasy.  Vampires have a sort of brooding presence that goes back to Gothic literature. There’s often a dark, enigmatic man involved, such as Mr. Rochester or Heathcliff.”
Moyer’s True Blood co-star Alexander Skarsgard is said to be one of the frontrunners for the role of Christian Grey in the upcoming ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ adaptation, so it will be interesting to see if Moyer is rooting for his friend to take the top spot in the heated competition for the role.” (Fansshare.com)

Somebody who plays a vampire on TV talking about vampires…big suckprise (Pun totally intended)!!!  I’m not at all shocked about Moyer saying that ’50 Shades’ is sexually exciting…it sounds like it would be right up his alley.

And, being a huge Alexander Skarsgard fan…I’m right there with the fans that want him to play Christian.  The real question isn’t would he do it, but can they afford him?  He’s been doing a lot of movies in recent years….I can only imagine is price tag has to be going up…especially with the fans screaming for him to play this role.

Who would you like to see cast as Christian?  Anastasia?
