He scared the on-set tea boy when he got into costume, spent three hours taking his make-up off each day and had to discard his hands just to scratch his head – but Benicio Del Toro loved being The Wolfman.

Del Toro, who brought Che Guevara to life on screen, follows in the footsteps of a host of renowned actors by howling at the Moon in the big-budget reworking of the 1941 classic horror flick.

The Wolfman is released in February and the Latin star, 43, admits it wasn’t always the easiest part to play, especially the elaborate costume and make-up needed to transform him from nobleman Lawrence Talbot into a werewolf.

He said: “I needed a team to help me if I wanted to say something because I had to take off my teeth.

by Jeff Otto at Sci Fi Wire: Robert Rodriguez: Don’t hold your breath for Sin City 2

When Robert Rodriguez’s Sin City opened to both commercial and critical success in 2005, a sequel seemed inevitable. But four years later, Sin City 2 is still “in the pipeline.” SCI FI Wire went straight to the source and asked director Rodriguez about the long-gestating project while visiting the set of Predators last week.

“I can’t say no, because I don’t know it’s no,” a noncommittal Rodriguez told a group of press. “I know [Sin City creator and co-director] Frank [Miller] wants to do it, I know I wanna do it, and it’s always sort of a ‘time permitting’ kind of thing, but it’s not like I can tell you definitely we’re starting. It’s not my next picture, I know that. [That] doesn’t mean that it’s not the picture right after, because that’s still a possibility. We still talk about doing that as early as later next year, but I haven’t gotten into that yet.”

Miller wrote a script for the proposed sequel in 2007. “We have to look at [Miller’s script] now and go, ‘Is this really the one?’ I think it’s built up so much, like, are we really going to satisfy everybody with what we have, should we add to it?”

I thought they were farther along with Sin City 2 than that. I’m kind of disappointed, a sequel would have been cool. I’m honestly surprised they had to put so much makeup on Benicio Del Toro to make him the Wolfman; he is naturally a very hairy man…but I do feel bad about his hands. Imagine not being able to scratch without help.

How do you feel about Sin City 2? Do you think Zoe Saldana is a sci-fi chick?
