Synopsis:  the-beauty-and-the-billionnaire

In this all-new novella in the New York Times bestselling series, Hunter and Gretchen are finally tying the knot—but their wedding may not be the easy fairy tale they’ve dreamed of…

Someone’s out to ruin Gretchen’s happy-ever-after on the eve before the big day. Can she trust Hunter, the man she’s given her heart to? And can she rely on her sister Daphne (the least reliable person of all!) to help her salvage things? Or is this marriage going to go down in flames before Gretchen and Hunter ever get to the altar?

Review:

It is with great delight that I can say this story in the Billionaire Boys Club series is a well told story that was so engaging that I could literally not put it down until the final “period” of the book.  I will endeavour to leave the surprises of the book just that….as surprises for you to discover yourself!

As Gretchen prepare for her wedding to Hunter, it seems that life is throwing her curve balls.  But she is one determined bride and NOTHING will get in her way of marrying the man she loves.   I love how Gretchen is a take charge kind of gal…doing everything herself when things go awry.  Though I must say – baking all the finger food (desserts) for the wedding seems a bit much given she is the bride after all! But it seems that when Gretchen is uptight and nervous she engages in “stress-baking”.  That should have been the first clue that Hunter recognized, but alas, he cannot alleviate Gretchen’s stress because he is in part the creator of said stress.  It is part of his master plan to surprise Gretchen with the best wedding present(s) ever.

One of my favourite passage is a conversation long overdue between Hunter and Gretchen during all the wedding mayhem:

“Gretchen, love,” he pulled her against him, crinkling swaths of white taffeta skirts and all, and brushed the veil and tangled hair out of her face. “What’s happened to my impulsive, silly, happy woman?”

“She’s been replaced by a psycho-hose-beast,” Gretchen sobbed

Daphne (Gretchen’s sister and famous rock star) reaches out to reconnect with Gretchen and Audrey (Daphne’s twin).  Daphne has been dealing with her own demons (one year into recovery from drug addiction) and the fact that she is in love with her life coach / personal trainer and in desperate need to re-connect with her sisters.  I loved how Daphne worked through issues which showed her progress during the long journey of rehabilitation.  Her acceptance of her limitations showed real growth. I wondered how she would cope with being exposed to the festivities of a wedding…..you shall see

Beauty and The Billionaire: The Wedding was a face paced novella that kept my interest throughout the entire story. I enjoyed how it brought in all the characters from the entire series, rounding it out nicely –with a neat, tidy bow. The conclusion was, well all I can say is, satisfying for some.  I have enjoyed this series of Jessica Clare immensely and cannot wait to start another one of her books.

I would recommend that you read Beauty and the Billionaire (Billionaire Boys Club #2) prior to reading this book as you will need Gretchen and Hunters story first before this conclusion.
