A Scandalous Proposal

Who would have thought a man could tire of being fawned over and flirted with? Ever since Cooper Townsend returned from France as a hero with a new title, he has been relentlessly pursued by every marriageable miss in London. Perhaps that’s why the unconventional Miss Daniella Foster is so appealing. She doesn’t simper or flatter. She only wants him to help unmask her sister’s blackmailer, and Coop has never been so intrigued…
Let every other woman in London fight over His Lordship’s romantic attentions. Marriage is the last thing on Dany’s mind…at least until she samples his illicit kisses. Now, as a mutual enemy races to ruin Coop’s reputation and Dany’s family name, an engagement of convenience will spark an unlikely passion that might save them both.
This is a delightful story of two people who make the best of an awkward situation and end of falling for each other. Dany’s sister who is married is being blackmailed over an illicit love affair. Knowledge of it would destroy Dany’s sister’s marriage and any life for the baby she is carrying. Cooper Townsend is her only answer. Working together will not be a problem as Dany has no intention of marrying anyone however even she can see what a catch Coop would be. When trouble seems to put Coop in danger and Dany’s family name in danger of scandal Coop and Dany decide to announce their engagement to prevent the scandal. Little did they know that the chemistry between them would make this convenient engagement more difficult to adhere to? Illicit kisses could only arouse feelings that eventually would have to be dealt with.
The story flows well and there is enough intrigue and excitement to keep the reader turning pages. The setting is easy to immerse yourself in and I know I felt myself drawn into the characters. I loved the tenacity of Dany as she protects those she loves and Cooper is the handsome male lead. Together their chemistry had me smitten from page 1.
Scandalous Proposal is a delightful read for an afternoon when you have time on your hands and you want a pleasant diversion. Hopefully Kasey Michaels will give us another historical fiction story. I for one will be on the lookout for this author’s name.
