Synopsis:Witches-Protection-Program

Wes Rockville, a disgraced law enforcement agent, is given one last chance to prove himself and save his career when he’s reassigned to a 232 year old secret government organization. The Witches Protection Program. His first assignment: uncover a billion-dollar Cosmetics company’s diabolical plan of using witchcraft for global domination, while protecting its heiress Morgan Pendragon from her aunt’s evil deeds. Reluctantly paired with veteran witch protector, Alastair Verne, Wes must learn to believe in both witches and himself. Filled with adventure, suspense and a rousing good time, Michael Phillip Cash creates a tongue-in-cheek alternate reality where witches cast spells and wreak havoc in modern day New York City.

Review:

After having read several of the books written by Michael Phillip Cash I had an idea what to be expected in this one. Or so I thought. Well one thing that was similar, he writes books that work perfect for movies or television. This one is definitely prime for that. His writing style just reads like watching a wonderful show or movie. This one has to be my favorite so far. I expected some off the wall premise, witty dialog and interaction between characters and first rate pacing and I got that for sure. Witches Protection Program is wonderful. From beginning to end, it pulled me in and never let go. I would really love to see this as a new television show, TV needs something good like this right now.

The main character Wes Rockville is self-depreciating and seems to lack the skills needed to be a stellar law enforcement agent like his father. It doesn’t help that his father is also his boss. When he fails again at his job, he is sent to the last resort job. Or so we are lead to believe. A 232 year old secret government agency, The Witches Protection Program. He is paired with veteran Alastair Verne and begins to see things he never believed existed. A horrible conspiracy is in the works that could change things around the world. A famous cosmetic company is using witchcraft to attempt world domination. Wes is thrown into a world he never knew as soon as he goes looking for his new department. From that moment on things happen that push him to believe the impossible and he drags the reader along with him.

Wonderful characters abound in this short but entertaining read. Great interactions with the dynamic duo of Wes and Alastair and those they are sworn to protect, witches. Evil comes in all shapes and sizes, including animals. Tempting the reader’s sense of reality, this book pulls the reader through strange happenings and makes them seem true. Even in the most outlandish scenarios, this author writes with a voice of truth. Explaining in a satisfactory way that makes everything feel like fact. As I was reading, I could see it all play out and imagine exactly how the show be!!

Witches Protection Program is a surprisingly wonderful book. I say surprising since I am not really a fan of witches, supernatural, etc. I truly enjoyed this book and even the premise of it. As I have said Michael Phillip Cash writes in a way that just plays like a movie. This one would be a fabulous new TV series. Reading it is similar to watching an amazing movie play out in your mind. His writing is so descriptive and entertaining. His characters are so well written they pop off the page. I would say this book would appeal to any reader that enjoys a bit of witchcraft, but truly it will appeal to so many others. It is like a wonderful, suspenseful cop show, drizzled with witchcraft and supernatural fun, and then pumped up with an excellent storyline.
