TWILIGHT SAGA NEWS AUGUST 13TH: ANNA KENDRICK, JAMES FRANCO, JACKSON RATHBONE & MORE

Anna Kendrick Gets Her ‘Twilight’ And ‘Lord Of The Rings’ Knowledge Put To The Test!

hollywoodcrush.mtv.com: Anna Kendrick is not new to dealing with passionate fans. She has worked in all the “The Twilight Saga” films (albeit as a human instead of a supernatural creature), has a small role in the upcoming “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” and has been a long time fan of “Lord of the Rings.”

Fortunately, we at MTV don’t allow such self-proclaimed passionate fandom to go untested, so while Anna was promoting “Scott Pilgrim,” MTV News’ Josh Horowitz decided to give her a little quiz to see how well she knows “Twilight” and “Lord of the Rings.”

James Franco Writing a Vampire Romance Novel?

nymag.com: In Esquire‘s cover feature on scholarly General Hospital star James Franco, we learn that the actor recently read Twilight:

“for a project … It’s crazy how much sexual tension there is [in Twilight]. It just builds and builds. I mean it never stops.”

He continues: “You probably know I have a lot of projects. But that one is way, way off,” he says. “It’s just something I’m thinking about … I want to write a children’s book. Someday.” And he’s apparently serious about it — of the book that inspired his current project, this weekend’s Eat, Pray, Love, he says only this: “My character mostly appears in the first twenty pages … And I can definitely say I read the first twenty pages.”

Jackson Rathbone Wants to See Kristen Stewart as a Vampire

movies.insidepulse.com: Sure all the talk is always about Edward, Bella, and Jacob but we can’t forget the other characters in the Twilight Saga now can we?

Be warned though that if you haven’t read the books or anything then you may be SPOILED a little later in this article.

I can’t wait, it’s always a reunion. I’m really looking forward to seeing Bella’s transformation, that’s one of the things that has been building up for a while.”

So Jasper is ready to see the goody-goody Bella finally transform into the species of her possible true love.

I’m excited to see how Kristen Stewart really works with that. That’s going to be fun, she’s an incredible actress and, I know this is a pun, but she’s chomping at the bit in order to play that transition.”

Anna Kendrick on Scott Pilgrim, Meeting Edgar Wright, and Surviving the Oscar Gauntlet

www.movieline.com: After earning a supporting actress nomination at the Oscars last year for her work in Up in the Air, Anna Kendrick again provides valuable support as part of the ensemble cast of Edgar Wright’s hyper-caffeinated comic book adaptation Scott Pilgrim vs the World. So how does the 25-year-old actress feel about shooting her role as Scott’s sister Stacey, her part in the upcoming cancer comedy Live With It, and the rigors of an Oscar season she’s finally put to bed? She told Movieline.

I’ve heard that Edgar was a big fan of your work in Rocket Science. Did he get in touch with you based on that?
Yeah, I think so. We had a meeting — God, it was a couple years ago, now — and it was actually at 6:30 in the morning before my flight to go shoot the first Twilight film. [Much later], I went in to read for Stacey and got hired. Standard stuff, really.

A 6:30am meeting sounds less than ideal.
Yeah, I was basically falling asleep. It was so early, and food sounded so gross to me, that I thought I was going to throw up at the breakfast table. It went good, though. It was a good enough impression, I guess.

Now, Comic-Con this year…was that your first time going?
It was my first time going and getting to have the full experience. I’d been with New Moon, but that was more of a Twilight-centric thing and we were sort of sequestered in Twilight world. This was the first time I got to go on the convention center floor, which was amazing.

Christina Ricci on Robert Pattinson: Great Guy, Awesome Kisser!

www.thehollywoodgossip.com: In the upcoming movie Bel Ami, Robert Pattinson makes loves to a lot of women.

His character rises to power in Paris by sleeping with and manipulating many females, one of whom will be played by Christina Ricci.

Asked by E! News what it was like to work so closely with the Twilight Saga hunk, Ricci said there is some “naughtiness” between their characters and summed up the shoot with this praise for her co-star:

“Working with Rob was amazing. He’s such a great guy, so talented.”

Breaking Dawn to be biggest paperback release of the year

www.thebookseller.com: Retailers are expecting the publication of Stephenie Meyer’s Breaking Dawn next week to be one of the “biggest paperback releases of the year”. The fourth and final novel in the Twilight series is to be published by Atom in paperback on 19th August after being out in hardback for two years.

Sarah Clarke, Waterstone’s children’s buying manager, said: “Despite the fact that the hardback has remained at or near the top of our children’s chart since publication – it’s still number three now – we have no doubt that Breaking Dawn is going to be our biggest children’s paperback of the year. We’ll be supporting it accordingly, and look forward to some very impressive sales.”

Twilight’s Charlie Bewley Talks Breaking Dawn‘s Birth Scene

www.reelzchannel.com: Volturi actor Charlie Bewley (Demetri) is the latest member of The Twilight Saga cast to chime in with his thoughts on Parts 1 and 2 of final movie Breaking Dawn, and the ever-popular topic of Bella’s somewhat gruesome birth scene.

On the subject of Bella’s much anticipated birth scene, Bewley has very specific ideas for how it should all play out.

I think they should just go all the way and do it in 3D! The baby kind of like pops out and floats above the audience’s head. Everyone who goes to see the movie with a bunch of kids going, “What?!”

On a serious note, he said “I have no idea. [But] they have to keep it in there. It’s part of the book.”

Is Stephenie Meyer Team Edward or Team Jacob?

www.twifans.com: The Stephenie Meyer fan-junket interview was all roses & hollyhocks until we delved into the most contentious subject of all, Team Edward vs Team Jacob…yes, of course we had to go there! Both sides battled vigorously (I’m not going to lie…Alison & I fought HARD for Team Edward!!) It was a heavy debate but in the end Stephenie Meyer really is…Team Switzerland 🙂

Have you ever wondered about who would actually win in a physical fight between Edward & Jacob? We’re talking the nitty gritty here people! Depending on what team you’re on the answer seems obvious but Alison & I wanted to know what the goddess who created the whole Twilight world, Stephenie Meyer, herself had to say. So we asked:

Twifans.com asks Stephenie Meyer who would win in a physical fight, Edward or Jacob by twifans

Anna Kendrick on Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

www.interviewmagazine.com: Taglined “An epic of epic epicness,” director Edgar Wright’s adaptation of Bryan Lee O’Malley’s popular comic book series, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, hits theaters with Biblical force this Friday. Archetypal awkward youth Michael Cera plays the titular character, a 22-year-old bass player who falls in love with a girl only to learn that she has seven evil ex-boyfriends, all of whom are hell-bent on killing him. Anna Kendrick, who plays Scott’s reliable sister Stacey, says her character is “the voice in the back of [Scott’s] head that he knows he’s not going to listen to.” We spoke to Kendrick about filming Scott Pilgrim, Comic Con, and Twilight mania (or lack thereof).

CAROLINE BANKOFF: Hello, Anna! Where are you calling from?

ANNA KENDRICK: I’m in Toronto. We have the Toronto premiere of Scott Pilgrim tonight–we filmed it in Toronto, so it’s a homecoming of sorts.

BANKOFF: How’s your summer been so far? What have you been up to?

KENDRICK: I don’t know, really. Just kind of doing the press tour and stuff. And watching a lot of movies.

BANKOFF: And you just went to Comic Con to promote Scott Pilgrim, right?

KENDRICK: Yeah. It was great; it was amazing. I mean, the film is obviously for comic fans, and they seemed to love it, which is a huge relief. Those are your toughest critics, in a way.

I’m really loving Anna’s interviews lately, she tends to be pretty funny and an easy going person. For what I’ve seen Anna is good for comedy, we still have to wait and see how she’s in other genres. Her MTV interview was funny, but she did good guessing, I can only remember Frodo’s name 😉 What do you think of Anna? What did you think of her interviews?

I’m with Jackson, I can’t wait to see how Kristen will look all vamped up and little Nessie. I loved his “Twilight Saga: Origins, Jasper’s back story” idea, I would definitely pay to see that 😉 What did you think of his interview?

What did you think of Charlie’s birth scene idea? How do you picture they’ll do it?

What did you think of Stephenie’s new interview?
