Why Do So Many Moms Love Twilight?

“Why do so many moms love ‘Twilight’?” seems to be a question that intrigues so many people?  Why would seemingly normal, well-adjusted women go batsh*t crazy for a teenage romance?  The folks at the MountainXpress.com in North Carolina took a closer look at the question and provided some answers.

“The books take you to another place where the laundry doesn’t pile up and the leading male is all about you and your needs. What’s not to love?” says Asheville event planner Lauri Nichols, mom of two.

Indeed, sister. For most moms, romance got discarded with that first umbilical cord and finding the time and energy to rediscover it is akin to attaining the Holy Grail of parenthood — completely empty laundry baskets.

We all get, and most of us accept, this reality of life with kids, but that doesn’t mean hiding in the bathroom to read a few passages that include a once-in-a-lifetime, sweep-you-off-your-feet romantic adventure, doesn’t relieve the pressure some. And if it puts you in the mood for rekindling, I doubt your partner’s going to complain about the disappearing mom act.

Will any of you be buying the “Eclipse” board game?  Have you purchased any of the other board games?  What do you think of them?

What do you think of Louisiana as a filming location for “Breaking Dawn”?  Now that I know that they still intend to film some of it in Vancouver, I’m more comfortable with it.  I wonder if they will be doing all of the indoor shots in Louisiana and saving Vancouver for the outdoor shoots?  That seems to make the most sense to me since Louisiana does NOT look anything like the Pacific Northwest.

I am very impressed with the “Welcome To the Rileys” trailer.  That looks like one of those good, rip-your-heart-out kind of films.  Just from some of the scenes shown in the trailer, I can see why there would already be some Oscar buzz around it.
