Bree Tanner Novella Delivered In A Coffin By Werewolves

THE first copies of one of this year’s most hotly-anticipated new books, Twilight author Stephenie Meyer’s latest novel, were delivered in a coffin today – by a pack of werewolves.

The pallbearers – inspired by the wolf shapeshifters seen in Twilight’s New Moon film – carried a sealed coffin containing the latest supernatural tale, The Short Second Life Of Bree Tanner, amid tight security at a London store.

Review of “The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner”

Source: TheWashingtonPost.com:

The plot yields a few tasty morsels. Fans will discover a new reason to detest Jane, the Volturi’s china-doll torturer, and Fred, a vampire whose superpower is to make people vomit, a nice addition to the world of bleak freaks Meyer has created over the course of four novels.

Actually, as far as character development goes, “Bree” bests the rest of “Twilight.” Bree and love interest Diego talk and act like real (undead) teens exploring a crush, as opposed to Edward and Bella’s pathological obsessilove that defines the other novels. Meyer’s dialogue is more believable here than almost anywhere else in Twi-world.

It’s disappointing — but perhaps expected — that “Bree” feels its fullest and most compelling in the last 30 pages, when the Cullens finally show up as Bree’s would-be saviors. Bree fails to notice, even once, how chiseled and godlike Edward is, which feels truly bizarre to fans who have known only Bella’s point of view.

We are left staring longingly after our familiar friends, wishing we could go home with them instead. You seem like a lovely girl, Bree, but you’re blocking our view of the action we care about.

Good luck to our Twilight stars tonight at the MTV Movie Awards!  It’s interesting how Taylor, Rob, Dakota, and Kristen are all competing against one another in the Best Kiss category.

What do you think of the Twilight themed wedding ideas?  Are any of you getting married soon and would you incorporate any of those ideas?  I like the idea of subtle and sneaky.  I could never hit my guests over the head with Twilight stuff everywhere.

I totally LOVE the way that the Bree Tanner novella was delivered in that store in London.  I can’t help but giggle as well because the song “Werewolves of London” keeps running through my head.  Very creative!

Do you have your copy of the Bree Tanner book yet?  I’m still waiting on mine to come from Amazon, but the review from The Washington Post seems promising.  Like I’ve said before, I’m just happy to have something more from the Twilight World that actually comes from Stephenie Meyer herself instead of having to read more fan fiction to get a fix.
