Listen to Vampire Weekend’s ‘Twilight: Eclipse’ Soundtrack Song
Vampire Weekend’s contribution to the “Twilight Saga: Eclipse” soundtrack, “Jonathan Low,” has finally made its way to the ‘net, and it’s actually a surprising contrast to the New York-based band’s output. It tends toward the dreamy rather than the crisp, tight tunes of the band’s last “Contra” and self-titled sets. Take “Holiday,” for example, a track whose video debuted just yesterday.

Hassler defends Twilight lettering
Kurt Hassler pretty much invented the notion of selling comics to girls when he was the head buyer at Borders, so it’s not surprising that he has continued that trend as publishing director of Yen Press. And indeed, Yen’s graphic novel adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight sold 66,000 copies in its first week of release, which is a pretty good indication that Hassler knows what he is doing, regardless of what the rest of us may think. While most comics folk grudgingly admitted that the book itself wasn’t bad, the lettering got a lot of criticism online. So naturally, the subject came up when CBR’s Kiel Phegley interviewed Hassler earlier this week. Hassler parried the question, essentially saying that the critics didn’t understand what the artist was doing.

Tyson Houseman talks ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’
Tyson Houseman, who portrays “Quil” in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, took time to discuss with a select few fansites his experience in being a part of one of the world’s biggest film franchises.
Q: So even though your character was introduced in New Moon, you really didn’t get to jump into the action until Eclipse. Did you kind of feel a little bit like Quil – that you were left out of the fun? And was it worth the wait getting to participate more in Eclipse?
Tyson: Yeah, there were actually a lot of similarities between me and the character. In New Moon, like you said, I only had like one day of shooting on set, and so every time I would see the other wolf guys they would always talk about all the fun times they were having on set, and stuff like that. And I kinda felt like I was missing out on that. And so I was really excited for Eclipse when we started that one. I was a wolf and a member of the wolf pack. So I got to hang out with the guys again and do all the stuff with them and that was really similar to what the character Quil was doing, too.
Q: Imprinting is a huge part of the book. Do we see that addressed at all in Eclipse, and if so, how do you feel about your character having to go through with that?
Tyson: Well, I mean, I was a little worried at first because it can come off as a little bit creepy to someone who doesn’t actually know what the whole idea of imprinting means, but they do a really good job of explaining it, and introducing it, and everything like that. And it’s portrayed really well in Eclipse so that you actually understand what it really is and so that people aren’t going to be leaving saying, “Oh that’s creepy. He’s in love with a two year old.”

Rachelle Lefevre speaks out against puppy mills in new PSA
If there’s one thing Twilight and The Twilight Saga: New Moon star Rachelle Lefevre has made perfectly clear about herself over the past few years, it’s that she’s an animal lover.
She’s been working with Best Friends Animal Society for quite a while now, promoting the adoption of animals from shelters rather than puppy mills and the like.
I don’t now about you guys but I see a face in that balloon art Rob did (among other things), maybe he still has some Dalí inside of him 🙂 Just like Rob some of the other Twilight stars have been helping out in charity work, like Rachelle with PSA, Christian Serratos with PETA, Peter, Kellan, etc., in all those different societies it’s good that they do something good and positive with the fame they’ve gained. What do you think of this?
What do you think of the new released Eclipse soundtrack song? Where do you think it would go?
Will you be attending the twilight events?
What do you think of Tyson’s interview? Something that caught your attention?
Have you read the twilight comic? What do you think of it?
