TWILIGHT SAGA NEWS FEBRUARY 4TH

ANNA KENDRICK SPEECHLESS OVER OSCAR NOMINATION

from limelife.com:
Anna says of her nomination, “I am thrilled beyond words to be nominated with these talented and inspiring women… Being involved in a film as special as Up in the Air was a dream come true. I am overwhelmed and honored by this nomination and am so grateful to be able to share this experience with George, Vera [Farmiga] and [director] Jason [Reitman].”

And Anna Kendrick really is modest (and totally adorable). After her nomination, she posted on her Twitter account, “I’d love to say that 140 characters couldn’t cover how I’m feeling right now… But I’m honestly speechless.” Love the girl!

from examiner.com:
When the announcement came down that The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse star Kellan Lutz would be modeling for Calvin Klein’s underwear advertisement campaign, many were intrigued as to how this actor-turned-model would look in the photos.

Wonder no more, for the first photograph from Lutz’s Calvin Klein campaign has finally been revealed.

About the shoot, Lutz revealed to People Magazine that because of his background in modeling, he considered the job the “pinnacle.”

“What more can you do,” he said, “than be on a billboard for something that you grew up thinking was super sexy and classy? It’s really prestigious and I love it.”

KRISTEN STEWART HEADS “RISING STAR” BALLOT

from variety.com:
In the four years it’s been given, a pattern has emerged in the voting for the Orange Rising Star award.

An industry jury selects the five nominees — not newcomers, but young actors from anywhere in the world with a solid body of work. The winner is voted by the public, via cellphone or the Internet. The teen-oriented technology favors whichever nominee has appeared in the biggest hit that year.

This year, Kristen Stewart fits the profile perfectly. She’s the star of the sizzling-hot “Twilight” franchise, and has several significant credits besides, going back to her work as a child actress.

The Orange Rising Star isn’t actually a BAFTA, although it’s handed out during the British Academy Film Awards ceremony. The giveaway is that the mask isn’t bronze like a real BAFTA but Perspex.

KRISTEN STEWART SAYS POLE DANCING “SUCKED”

from eonline.com:
Welcome to the Rileys was a real pain for Kristen Stewart—literally.

In the much buzzed about indie flick, she plays a 16-year-old stripper who is taken in by a married man, played by James Gandolfini…

“I did some pole dancing,” Stewart told me Saturday at the movie’s premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. “I got bruises all over my legs. I tore myself up doing it. It sucked.”

Oddly enough, she kinda enjoyed it. “The more I saw it, the more I wanted it,” Stewart said. “It was like a weird self-hating kind of thing.”

ALEX MERAZ BLASTS “VALENTINE’S DAY” MOVIE

from eonline.com:
He’s not a member of a wolf pack for nothing.

Alex Meraz’s Twitter teeth are sharp and he’s out for blood…namely, his costar Taylor Lautner’s blood.

See, Alex (the packer on the far left of the photo) doesn’t think too highly of our favorite 17-year-old’s upcoming movie Valentine’s Day, which also stars that other Taylor, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Biel, Jessica Alba, Ashton Kutcher, Patrick Dempsey, Julia Roberts, Bradley Cooper and a whole bunch of other Hollywood bigs.

“Sorry Taylor but the movie Valentine’s Day looks lame and desperate,” the New Moon star writes. “It cries out, ‘look we have all the biggest starz in 1 movie pleez watch!’ ”

“TWILIGHT” CONTINUES TO WEIGH ON HOT TOPIC

from reuters.com:
Hot Topic Inc (HOTT.O) missed same store estimates for the third month in a row as it continued to look for a replacement for its popular ‘Twilight’ franchise.

This month, merchandise from the Twilight series was responsible for half the decline in comparable sales at its namesake division, a spokesman said in a pre-recorded call.

The company also said it will not sell DVDs of the sequel ‘New Moon’ as it would not be able to compete on pricing with big box retailers.

“If Twilight hadn’t been there at all, their comps would have been down 8 or 9 pct,” William Blair & Co analyst Sharon Zackfia said, pointing to the difficult year-over-year comparisons, due to the success of the franchise.

I really need to go see “Up In the Air” so that I can see what everyone is all fired-up about.  I’ve never seen Anna in anything other than the Twilight movies, although I thought that she was infinitely better as Jessica in “New Moon”.  Her rant in Port Angeles was awesome!

Holy underwear model, Batman!!!  When they film “Breaking Dawn”, can they find a way for Emmett to be walking around the Cullens’ house in his underwear?

Ashley’s shoot for Marie Claire looks awesome.  This cast is a beautiful bunch of people, n’est ce pas?

Open mouth, insert foot!  It sounds like Alex Meraz has a lot in common with Paul, huh?
