TWILIGHT SAGA NEWS: BREAKING DAWN SOUNDTRACK UPDATES, CAST APPEARANCES AND TV SPOTS

“FLIGHTLESS BIRD, AMERICAN MOUTH – WEDDING VERSION” REVEALED

Iron and Wine’s “Flightless Bird, American Mouth” made an appearance in the first installment of the “Twilight” movies in the prom scene with Edward and Bella dancing.  It will make a revamped (ha-ha!) appearance in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” with a special “Wedding Version”.   Take a listen and watch the video below.

I love that this song is getting a chance to come full-circle and make another appearance on a soundtrack. It was the first dance for the couple at the prom and I’m 99% sure that we’ll see Edward and Bella dance to it as their first dance as husband and wife at the reception.  I’ve always thought that the song was very sweet and romantic.  I am really liking what they’ve done with the addition of the strings and a slightly slower tempo.

CHRISTINA PERRI’S “A THOUSAND YEARS” VIDEO RELEASED

Christina Perri is another artist contributing to the soundtrack for “Breaking Dawn – Part 1” and she wrote a song called “A Thousand Years” for Edward and Bella.  Perri, a self-proclaimed Twilight fan, spoke to MTV about the song and says,

“I wrote [the song] for Edward and Bella in their perspective,” Perri explained, calling the song “pretty, classical and simple.” “It’s the purest love song I think I could have possibly written. It’s about the simplest kind of love and a timeless love.

Take a look at the official video for the song featuring scenes from “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” below.

What do you think of this song?  Where do you see it being used in the movie?  Do you think that it will end up as one of the songs used when the credits start rolling or do you think it will get a more prominent place in the story?   I have to say that I am LOVING this song, but I’ve liked everything that I’ve heard Christina Perri sing thus far.   I’m glad to know that someone who is such a big fan of the Twilight Saga has been able to land a spot on the soundtrack!

Get those DVRs set!   I am really looking forward to watching the cast with Ellen.   The whole cast with Jimmy Kimmel last year was pretty awesome, but I have a feeling that Ellen will have something really good up her sleeve – like the time she gave Rob underwear that said “bite me”.   I’m also glad to see that Rob will be stopping by Jimmy Fallon’s show.  I am really hoping to see another installment of “Bothered”.

Do you have a favorite of the TV spots?  I have to say that I’m really partial to the “Love Forever” one with Christina Perri’s song playing and the interaction between Charlie and Bella.   I love me some Chief Swan!  I have a feeling that I may just bawl like a baby during any and all of the Charlie scenes this time around.  I nearly lost it in “New Moon” in the scene when he wakes up to Bella’s screaming and has this lost look on his face.   The wedding sneak-peek is nice and I cannot wait to see that on the big screen.   The set is absolutely stunning!!
