FRANK GRILLO IN MY SOUL TO TAKE

THE GATES is both the name of ABC’s Sunday night supernatural series and the exclusive community where it takes place. Former police officer Nick Monohan accepts a job as chief of security for The Gates before he understands exactly what that entails and the varied natures of the people in the neighborhood where he’s just moved with his family.

Frank Grillo [PRISON BREAK, THE SHIELD], who plays Nick, talks about his gig on the show, as well as his experiences working with Wes Craven on the forthcoming horror film MY SOUL TO TAKE.

iF MAGAZINE: How do you describe THE GATES to people?

FRANK GRILLO: It’s a gated community that we all live in and, by appearances, it could be like the community in Desperate Housewives, where everybody’s having a good time and they have their suburban problems, but you soon learn that the people in the community called The Gates are not exactly what they appear to be, and you learn that they’re in The Gates protecting themselves from the outside world.

The image at right is of Clarke as Daenerys, the exiled aristocrat whose coming of age is one of the main threads of ‘Game of Thrones.’ The first season of the HBO series is based on the first in a series of fantasy novels by George R.R. Martin.
