Jessica Tuck to Appear on ‘Grimm’ via Cinema Blend
In four seasons of True Blood, we saw Jessica Tuck’s Nan Flanagan rise from a minor character working for the American Vampire League to a major pain in Bill’s – and I daresay the audiences’ – ass. Nan was glamorous, fierce, and a seriously manipulative individual. When she pushed the boundaries and threatened our hero, Sookie Stackhouse, at the end of Season 4, many of us relished seeing Ms. Flanagan earn her comeuppance. Unfortunately, for actress Jessica Tuck, this has meant more of an open schedule in early 2012.
This year, Tuck has already made an appearance on network TV in a recent episode of One Life To Live. Now she is headed to NBC to play out a more fairytale-oriented storyline. Tuck is set to act in an upcoming episode of Grimm called “Love Sick,” and this time she won’t need the fangs, although she will play a character who is somewhat supernatural. According to Entertainment Weekly, Tuck is set to play Adalind’s (Claire Coffee) mother, who, like Adalind is part witch and part beast, a “hexenbiest” for those who know the lingo. With Adalind’s record, I’m sure there will be some trouble a’brewing.
Right now, Tuck is just lined up for the one episode on the modern day fantasy and crime series, so there is no indication she will take a supernatural form for an extended period on the NBC show. Which is rather a shame. She’s a real natural.
“Love Sick” is set to air sometime later this season.
Season 5 Spoilers: Russell via Gather.com
True Blood season 5 will be airing in the summer on HBO, but Denis O’Hare is already teasing what’s coming in season 5 for his character, Russell Edgington.
More Russell in season 5?
Denis O’Hare teased to Vulture, “I don’t know what they have planned for me, but I’ll probably be in most of the season, starting about midway.” However, he didn’t say much more than, “If I told you that, they’d bury me again. All I can say is that he’s got friends in unlikely places.” Russell is just one of a few returning and new characters showing up in True Blood season 5, a few of which were teased in the season 4 finale.
It’s no surprise that Russell has some “friends in unlikely places” out there to help bring him back. After all, that’s pretty much what you expected once it looked like he would be back in season 5. While you had to wonder if Russell would indeed return with Denis O’Hare in American Horror Story, that show is going to be showing a different haunting with a new cast (and some returning in different roles) each season. It would still be possible for him to return even if he was still on the FX show, but perhaps now he’ll be in more episodes. He did say he’s “probably [going to] be in most of the season” once it gets to the halfway point. There’s plenty coming to Bon Temps and more werewolves coming, but what is Russell going to be up to? They may have taken care of the witches in season 4, but with Russell slated to possibly be part of a good part of season 5, who knows what tricks he’ll have up his sleeve—and what that will mean for Bill and Eric, who will have to deal with the consequences of their own actions in the season 4 finale.
