Review
Macon Spade had his heart broken seven years ago, and has vowed off relationships since. Rich and sexy, he has put his efforts into being the perfect playboy instead. He feeds off of a constant string of one-night-stands instead of tying himself and his heart down.
However, it all changes when he sees her. Macon has his buddies visiting him in Kauai, where he is in charge of the build-out of the newest Spade hotel. They’re on an epic bachelor party. His own friends can’t keep his attention off of the girl dancing on stage in that sexy black dress though. He must meet her, he must possess her. Only she doesn’t seem to be interested in him at all. She does let him convince her to leave with him, but refuses to even give him her name. After they’ve had their fun, he still can’t get the girl out of his mind. How can he find her without as much as a name? Guess he will just have to stalk the club until he finally can convince her to give him a real try. But will she ever give in? It figures the one girl he wants, is the one that doesn’t want him.
This was an okay read. It was nothing earth-shattering. Honestly, I found the synopsis a bit misleading.
“When our paths cross again in the most unexpected way, I’m on a mission to make her mine.”
So, finding her at the club that he originally saw her at was a most unexpected way? I was definitely expecting something more.
The characters were decent enough and the romance was okay, if a bit one-dimensional. I found it was like countless others in the genre. Sweet, but lacked real substance. Nothing happened to truly threaten their happiness or get your heart pumping. However, if you’re looking for a simple and sweet romance, I guess it will serve your purpose.
