It was recently revealed via The Hollywood Reporter that The Mortal Instruments books by author Cassandra Clare is making its comeback as a TV series. This comes as great news, for the delight of every fan that was kept wanting more, after the  2013 movie of the first book in the series, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.

Constantin Film and Ed Dexter will be in charge of producing and adapting the TV version, and while nothing is set in stone, yet, Cassandra Clare, herself, is already confirming the news to her fans via several of her social media, to which it has had a good response.

Well, I promised to let you know about movies/TV as soon as I knew anything, and now I know something. (I knew a tiny bit about this being a possibility on Friday, but this is the first I’m hearing of some of the definite details!)

I have absolutely no idea! I am sure they are not casting at the moment and probably nobody knows. There is absolutely nothing whatsoever I could possibly ever do to influence whether they kept the same cast (assuming they were  available) at all, so I will be waiting, like you, to see if they cast new people, and hoping that if they do, those people will be good. It will be interesting to see how they handle and deliver a TV version of the popular YA series, who they cast as Clary, Jace, Simon, Izzy and other characters. Not to mention, that news of a TV series comes just in time now that the sixth book in the series, City of Heavenly Fire, released this year, is still fresh among fans. This will also be a good way to bring the series to the fans with no details left aside.

What do you think about The Mortal Instruments as a TV series? Who would you want to see in the cast?
