Review:
As a DC comics fan, I am always looking forward for the next book in these series because I get a glimpse into what the super heroes’ lives were before becoming heroes one looks up to. Author Lisa Yee goes into the young heroes minds to create a fun whole other side of the comic characters fans are used to seeing, and it’s just amazing.
In Wonder Woman at Super Hero High we got a chance to see how Wonder Woman got her start at being a super along with introducing several of the other superheroes and villains. Now, in Supergirl at Super Hero High, Kara learns how to use her newly found powers and how to be a super.
I liked that Yee showed the difference between both girls’ first time experiences at the school. For Diana the separation from her mother and home was less difficult than for Kara. Kara kept having a difficult time adjusting to a new planet, family, school, and classmates. Eventually, Kara finds her place and calling with the help of Wonder Woman, Barbara Gordon, and several other supers.
We also get to see a lot from Barbara who is really active taking care of Super Hero High’s security and tech stuff. And at the end we get a big surprise from her. Other supers mentioned are Poison Ivy, Flash, Hawkgirl, Katana, Catwoman, and many more. So if you’re into DC comics and want a glimpse of your favorite super hero girls I recommend you read Supergirl at Super Hero High.
