The Billionaire Boys Club is a secret society of six incredibly wealthy men who have vowed success in business – at any cost. But success when it comes to love is a different matter…

Jonathan Lyons. Playboy, billionaire, and adventurer, he lives life on the edge. When he hears that his mentor, Dr. Phineas DeWitt, had a secret journal that leads to a legendary artifact, Jonathan takes action. It stirs his blood, but it comes with a heady challenge: DeWitt’s daughter Violet. She has what Jonathan needs. And she’s not giving it up it to the man who broke her heart.

Violet is Jonathan’s weakness – he’s still in love despite their volatile breakup a decade ago. But Violet’s memories have a sharper edge. She’s never forgiven him for abandoning her. Or so she thought. When Jonathan’s attentions turn seductive, she’s in danger of falling for him all over again. And she can’t help but wonder…does he really want her, or just what she’s hiding?

Review:

Overall I enjoyed the read…..but I do have a few things which surprised me compared to the other two books in the series I have had the pleasure of reading.

What a way for Jonathan to endear him to this reader….NOT…by essentially blackmailing Violet into spending time with him.

He shook his head. “All deprived of a better education because of the selfish needs of one teacher.”

I was surprised at Jonathan’s brash (and frankly jerky and selfish) actions – seems very controlling.

Violet – I presume if I don’t go with you none of this windfall of magical philanthropic money will ever make it to the school district, right?

Jonathan – Actually, it would, but she didn’t have to know that! Nope, he lied. And I have it on good authority that a few people will be let go at the end of the semester to keep the budget running.

Though I must admit…this seems to be a trend with these billionaires.  In the second book, Beauty and the Billionaire…the billionaire hired his love interest to write a book, performing all the research at his private estate.  Not sure I liked the way these guys get their gal…..of course….this is fiction and well written fiction I might add.

Regardless of my thoughts on the billionaire’s penchant for getting the women they love to fall in love with them by forcing interactions with these women, the story is engaging and the flow is there.  I was moved emotionally when it was discovered that the whole falling apart of the relationship when both Violet and Jonathan were teenagers was a result of miscommunication – and I was definitely moved not in a good way when Dr. Phineas DeWitt’s (Violet’s dad) part in this was discovered.  I felt as a way of making up for this that the “treasure hunt” instigated by Violet’s father from the grave was intriguing….and showed that probably underneath it all, he did care about Violet….as best he could.

When Jonathan said …

Remember when I told you that the last ten years didn’t count?  I was wrong. Because if we didn’t have the last ten years, I wouldn’t know what it was like to lose youWithout that, I might never have come here tonight, despite knowing that you didn’t want me here. I might never have tried again. I would have just gone on. Those ten years let me learn from my mistakes.”

I just loved the human, caring side of Jonathan coming out.  Made the brash Jonathan shrink away in my mind….and let me empathize with his side more.

I must say the flying scenes were HOT….and well written.  As communicated earlier, the story is good…just a wee bit too much smuttiness for me in this story.  Overall….I really am enjoying the series to date and I hope that you pick up this series and enjoy the books as well.
