Marina (aka no.7) and her sister have been running from the law for a long time. They have spent the most time in a orphanage in Spain because that was the only place that would take both of them. Marina is almost 16 and she wants to flee the orphanage as soon as she can. Her sister doesn’t share the same mindset and is content hiding out and trying to become a nun.

Marina spends some time on the Internet and hears all about John Smith and his father. She reads how they are fugitives and how they are offering a reward. Marina feels that John is like her in that they both have special powers that a normal human cannot possess. She is drawn to him by his picture in the paper.

Meanwhile, John Smith is on the run with Sam (aka no.6). John’s father Henri got killed by the people that want all of them dead and he is trying not to get him or Sam killed. Sam hears about how much they are offering for information on either of them and how much it would be if either one of them are captured alive.

This is not a boring book..there is a lot of action and suspense. At times you can feel the despair in the characters which I identified with. Marina reminds me of Max from the TV show” Dark Angel” which I really enjoyed for two seasons before being cancelled. The characters are interesting and engaging.

I give the book my highest rating 5 out of 5 stars. Make sure to read it!
