‘Paranormal Activity’ a Huge Success, Expands

Paramount Pictures’ ultra low-budget horror flick Paranormal Activity saw huge numbers this weekend as it expanded to 33 cities across the country. Playing only at midnight, the $10,000 film sold out all of the venues from Thursday to Saturday and grossed an impressive $535,000 ($16k per location).
Now it’s poised to expand again this Friday (October 9) to 40 total markets (roughly 100 screens) and extended daytime hours to allow more people to experience Oren Peli’s viral film. If it’s still not in your city, you can demand it here.
If Paranormal Activity gets enough demands, it could open in a city near you.
