OBS LAUNCHES NEW FEATURE: PARENT TO PARENT SUGGESTED READING & REVIEWS

Launching New Feature: Parent to Parent Suggested Reading & Reviews

Attention! Attention!!  Open Book Society is proud to announce that we are rolling out a new feature for you all to sink your teeth into!!  It’s called ‘Parent to Parent Suggested Reading & Reviews‘.  It’s a place where you can go and look at reviews to determine if a book is appropriate for your child.  It’s the brainchild of OBS staff member Angie and here is what she had to say to introduce our latest offering for you…

As a parent and an educator I’m always cautious about the books that find their way into my children’s and students’ hands. But I want them to explore reading and find their niche just like I did. So to take the guesswork and fear out of that “independent exploration” I read books ahead of time and put them out for my kids to “discover” on their own. But not everyone has that kind of time on their hands. We have Parent to Parent: Suggested Reading and Reviews to help you get an idea of the storyline, reading level, vocabulary level, and maturity level for books that you can steer your children towards. I hope you find this feature informative and helpful in your efforts to share your love of reading with your children. And if you have a book that you’d like us to take a look at, please feel free to shoot me an email.

Keep your eyes peeled for our first Parent to Parent review!  It should be making it’s way onto  our blog in the coming days!!
