Halfway to the Grave – Book 1

Summary:

Halfway To The Grave
Flirting With The Grave…

Half-vampire Catherine Crawfield is going after the undead with a vengeance, hoping that one of these deadbeats is her father – the one responsible for ruining her mother’s life. Then she’s captured by Bones, a vampire bounty hunter, and is forced into an unlikely partnership.

In exchange for help finding her father, Cat agrees to train with the sexy night stalker until her battle reflexes are as sharp as his fangs. She’s amazed she doesn’t end up as his dinner – are there actually good vampires? Pretty soon Bones will have her convinced that being half-dead doesn’t have to be all bad. But before she can enjoy her status as kick-ass demon hunter, Cat and Bones are pursued by a group of killers. Now Cat will have to choose a side … and Bones is turning out to be as tempting as any man with a heartbeat.

Review:
It took me a while to get into this book but once I was in I was hooked! The characters Cat and Bones are incredible. In the beginning, I found Cat immature and that irritated me, but then I realized she is immature. She has the opinion that all vampires are evil, raping, killing machines. Bones is a good guy, very loyal and kind but he is also a vampire. Cat finds herself very attracted to Bones and she is unsure of what should do with that. It makes for an interesting courtship, to say the least.

As Bones trains Cat to be better at killing the scum, to prevent her from getting killed while hunting them, they develop a relationship. Someone is out to kill them and they must protect themselves.

What started out slow for me, turned out to be a plot with twists and turns on the road of love, loyalty, lies, and deceit. I am very much looking forward to the next book.
