Chapter 24 The Vote
By: Libby
Summary:
Edward reluctantly takes Bella to his house so she can conduct her vote. On their way she tells him that she doesn’t feel like she has anything to hold him to her. He proceeds to tell her that her hold is permanent and unbreakable, which comes to Edward asking about Bella about her greatest problem. She tells Edward it’s him, because he can leave her and the worst Victoria or the Volturi can do is kill her. Edward is saddened upon hearing this and, trying to distract him, Bella asks for her birthday gifts back. Edward tells her that he never took them far and that they were under her floorboards the entire time. This triggers something inside her, and she starts to explain the voices she heard while he was gone and ends up having an epiphany.
Questions for consideration:
What did you think of Bella’s “greatest problem”?
Were you surprised to hear that Bella’s stuff was still at her house?
What would you change about this chapter if you had a chance?
What did you think of Bella’s epiphany?
How did you feel before the vote, when Bella said she’d go to Italy alone?
What did you think of Edward’s alternative plan? Do you think it would have worked or was he just grasping at straws?
What did you think of the outcome of the vote? Were you shocked by the results?
Do you agree with the decision to wait until after graduation?
Do you think Bella should have stood up to Charlie like that?
