TV NEWS FOR OCT 22: TVD, SUPERNATURAL, NEW FALL SHOWS & MORE

TAYLOR KINNEY ANSWERS YOUR VAMPIRE DIARIES QUESTIONS
Source: NYPost.com

He’s only been on “Vampire Diaries” for five weeks but Taylor Kinney has already made such a strong impression as Mason Lockwood that PopWrap’s inbox was flooded with replies when we tweeted: what would you ask Taylor?

And despite our non-sexual questions only caveat, the marriage proposals almost out numbered legit show queries (can’t really blame you guys). However, after sifting through hundreds of responses, we were blown away by how incredibly creative most of the questions were.

So it was decided: our inquiries were getting tossed on the backburner and we were going to let the fans take over! These are the nine questions we decided to ask Taylor when he rang up last week.

He is definitely incentive to watch this show *G* What do you think of him and his character?

I was so excited to hear that Jensen was taking over directing duties for an episode – what did you think? Should Jared do one too?

TORCHWOOD: THE NEW WORLD CHARACTER UPDATE

Torchwood series 4 heads before the cameras earlier next year, and it’s already been revealed who the main new characters joining Gwen and Captain Jack Harkness will be. But the latest issue of Doctor Who Magazine also puts a bit more flesh on the bones.

Children of the Earth, to be frank, killed any further interest in this show for me, and these new character breakdowns, featuring a paedophile who as I’ve read some articles, becomes part of the new TW team, does nothing but make me disturbed at the what this show is attempting to say. I would guess the character is designed to turn up the tension with Jack and Gwen, considering his decision in COE and her new baby, but eh *shrugs* Would you show interest in a show where it’s no use getting invested in characters, that aren’t Jack and Gwen, bc they are so expendable? For me, a strong supporting cast is as important to get invested in as much as the main characters.

WHY THE NEW FALL TV SHOWS ARE BAD FOR THE INTERNET
Source: buddytv.com

Much has been said recently about the importance of the Internet when it comes to TV watching. Today’s viewers don’t simply tune in to a show and then forget about it until next week. Instead, many will watch the show… And then re-watch the show online… And post to a show message board… And search for spoilers… And…

But this hasn’t happened with the new shows of the fall season. Don’t get me wrong — there are some pretty good new shows out there. However, with a few possible exceptions, you don’t hear a peep about them on the Internet. What’s up with that?

Simply put, this fall season gives us nothing to keep the Internet-savvy viewer hooked. But what does it take to wed your television show to the Internet?

This is a somewhat of a downer look at the new shows on TV – do you agree with it?
