Oh, man. Just when you think being a werewolf couldn’t stink any more, it — well — stinks a lot more.

That’s the grim situation confronting George (Russell Tovey) as “Being Human” returns to BBC America for a second season of eight episodes starting Saturday, July 24.

“George is, after all, of the three of them the only one who is alive, since Mitchell (Turner) is a vampire and Annie (Crichlow) is a ghost,” he explains. “He’s the normal Joe, and he really just longs to be average. He wants to be ordinary, and his biggest fear in the first season was killing someone, and also, as another werewolf told him in season one, that he would end up ‘using the wolf to his advantage.’

Glenn Fleishman shares a treat with us:

“I was lucky enough to attend the last scheduled table reading (where a script is read by the voice actors) for Futurama, the animated cartoon show revived twice now after Fox’s broadcast network failed to kill the show. Featured at the reading were piles of delicious brain slug cupcakes. I LOVE THE BRAIN SLUG CUPCAKES, TRY ONE.

The final script is quite hilarious, naturally, and it was a pleasure not just to hear it read in person by the actors, but to watch how much of a family the show is, cast, crew, and their friends and families. That feeling comes through in the show, which was created by Matt Groening and David “X” Cohen, through whose good offices (and my dear friend, his sister) I garnered an invite.”

With word from producer John G. Lenic that the deals have been closed on those Atlantis alums, we can now move forward on the script, secure in the knowledge that both extra-special guest stars will actually be on hand to say the dialogue written specifically for them.

I’m finally able to watch Being Human, it’s on one of the channels I have (not BBC America, but I can’t remember the name). I missed episode one, but it comes out on DVD in the US on Tuesday. I love what I’ve seen, and can’t wait to catch up. I love the Futurama brain slug cupcakes, although the originals look better. But it’s awesome that they even did it.

Are you looking forward to the new season of Being Human? What do you think of the SGU/Atlantis crossover?
