TV NEWS FOR 12/28 TRUE BLOOD & MILLENIUM

Ryan Kwanten’s a Hollywood star

Ryan Kwanten has impressed Hollywood bosses with his part on True Blood.

The former soap star, who plays Jason Stackhouse in the US vampire drama, has received lavish praise from the show’s creator Alan Ball.

“One of the things I really appreciated about Ryan is his willingness to look foolish,” Alan told the Australian Herald Sun.

“Jason is not the sharpest knife in the drawer and a lot of actors might need to wink at the camera to let the audience know that, ‘I’m not really this stupid’.”

As Jason, Ryan – who played hunky lifeguard Vinnie Patterson in Home And Away until 2002 – has to take his clothes off to play slow-witted ladies’ man Jason.

“Ryan is smart and talented and skilled and he makes it (Jason) look effortless, but he’s really nothing like Jason in real life,” Alan added.
