murder-ties-the-knotMurder Ties the Knot picks up about a year after Murder Sends a Postcard left off.  Glory is busy in preparation of her best friend, Karen’s upcoming wedding to Riley.  She is the maid of honor and wants to do all that she can to make this wedding a success, even dealing with Karen’s mom’s month long visit that’s sure to drive them all a little batty!

Glory had commissioned a quilt to be made for the happy couple as their wedding gift, but the quilter hasn’t been answering Glory’s calls.  It’s time to take matters into her own hands and find out what’s going on.  But when Jake and she arrive at Beth’s house, they find that nobody is home.  And the next day two dead bodies are found on the property.  Glory finally gets a hold of Beth and convinces her to come back to town to talk to the sheriff, only for Beth and her husband to be arrested for the murders.  Glory knows they’re innocent and feels guilty for delivering them to their own arrest.   But she’s not sure how she can help them get out of this mess.

In the meantime a new business venture also presents itself!

This was a decent read.  It wasn’t mind-boggling but it was able to maintain my interest for the most part.  But if you read these books for the mystery, you may be slightly disappointed, as this mystery really seems to take a backseat to everything going on in Glory’s life, mainly on the business front with this new opportunity.  The mystery seems to solve itself in the end.

I found some of the things Glory did in this book to not be very smart.  After she and Karen got accosted by a couple of strange guys at Beth’s house, I struggled with why she would question Beth when she stated it wasn’t safe there and why she would rush out there again… at least she took someone with her … even if she kept them in the dark until they were on their way.  I also couldn’t wrap my head around why she thought it was her job to force Beth back to town.

This book does advance the storyline of Glory’s personal life quite a bit, and is an installment that fans of the series won’t want to miss!
